Family History: Lucy was born in Ireland in the Spring of 1838, to Mr. and Mrs. Sean Haynsworth, a couple living along the coast in Wexford. They raised crops on their field for a living, with their main food source being potatoes, like many Irish at the time. Lucy grew up planting and harvesting and caring for the land, for she had been a hard-working, ambitious child from her her toddling days. By the time she was two and a half, she was plowing the fields with her dad and busy in the barn, never idle except when sleeping, which she did reluctantly.
Then, when Lucy was seven, tragedy hit, transforming the small-town life that she so cherished forever. They year was 1845, and all the crop at the harvesting time seemed to be dead. The potatoes were all withered up and dry in the ground, leaving the Irish citizens with nearly nothing to eat. For a little while they held on by surviving on what little crop had grown, though it did not last long and they were soon left starving once more.
It was clear to Lucy's parents that if they did not leave Ireland, they would surely die from this cursed potato famine. And though they loved their home country, they decided it would be best to for them to migrate to America, like many others were doing at the time. However, Lucy was a stubborn, willful little girl even at such a tender age, and refused to leave their homeland behind. She clung to the dry, cracked land and the skin-and-bone cattle, crying and throwing fits. They ended up having to carry her to the overcrowded, busting at the seams ship which would take them across the sea to America, as she pounded on her father's back and shrieked all the while.
The journey proved to be a long, hard one, for Lucy and her parents were crammed in a small area with hundreds of people. The air was dirty and sickly, and conditions were miserable. About half-way through the voyage, Lucy's mother grew violently ill with a severe case of typhoid fever. She was near death when it suddenly vanished, and she was nursed back to health once more. It was a miracle, one that Lucy and her father were very grateful for.
Finally, after four long weeks, the boat reached the shores of America, New York City to be precise. The three Haynsworth's stepped off, and were shocked by the huge, industrialized city. They ended up living in a rather dodgy part of Little Germany, which is today known as Alphabet City. They lived in tiny apartment which they shared with another family on Avenue A. Lucy's dad went in search of some manual labor job, though he did not have much luck, for many factory owners were racist and refused to hire immigrants. Lucy's mother managed to secure a job at a laundromat, working long and grueling hours both day and night. Her father finally secured a job at a glass factory, though it was miserable work and he often came home all cut up from the glass shards.
Lucy found herself with nothing to do, sitting in the dusty and stinky little room with the old couple they roomed with. She was literally bored to tears, for she was a very active girl and being cooped up inside killed her. While her parents were at work all day and into the night, she was not allowed to leave the apartment, for they feared someone would try to harm her if she did. After all, she had only just turned nine.
By the time Lucy was ten, she was dying for something to do with her existence, anything at all. She finally convinced her mother to allow her to work with her at the laundromat, and she began to work with her relentlessly. Lucy proved to be a diligent worker, and at the age of fourteen she began working three different part-time jobs. By then, she and her mum and dad had saved enough money to move into another small apartment which they had to themselves in a better part of town.
For three years, they lived there in relative peace. All three of them worked so much that they barely ever saw each other. Then, one night when Lucy was seventeen, she was in the market late at night, purchasing a few things for her mother. She was was alone in one of the more dangerous parts of town, but she was strong and independent, and also foolish enough to believe no one could harm her. But as she was heading back home in a dark alleyway, she saw a humungous, furry figure jump from behind the dumpster, and before she even got a chance to run it was on top of her, ripping into her fair flesh with it's carnivorous teeth and claws. She fought with all her might, but was no match for the inhumanly fast and strong creature.
However, before it killed her, it seemed to be scared off by some unknown force, and took off. Lucy lay there on the cold, hard ground, bleeding freely. She lay there for quite some time, exactly how long she does not remember, though when she finally woke up and found the strength to rise, it was bright out. Much to her great surprise, she found that all her deep, bloody wounds and gashes had been healed miraculously, though there was one scar stretching across her back. However, it looked old, as though it had healed over years ago.
Thoroughly baffled, and shaken, Lucy returned home to her parents, and though they questioned endlessly about where she'd been, she let nothing slip and kept her encounter with the strange creature a secret. Though, she somehow felt different... stronger. One day when she had been in their kitchen slicing potatoes, she had sliced open her hand, and watched in shock as it healed within moments. She was frightened, and wondered what she had become.
She soon found out the hard way. Lucy was having a heated argument with her mother, and they were yelling and screaming, when she found something within her begin to take control. Her mother watched in utter horror as her seventeen year-old daughter phased into a lean, yet powerful-looking white werewolf. Anger coursing through her veins, Lucy had lost all sense of reason, and with one powerful wipe of her huge paw Mrs. Haynsworth was dead.
Phasing back to her human form, Lucy found herself naked and shivering, with her mother laying before her lifeless. She let out an earth-shattering scream and couldn't believe what she had done, hysterically yelling and her mind in overdrive. Later, when her father arrived home, he found Lucy completely naked and kneeling over his wife's still corpse. He cried out and began to shake his daughter, interrogating her about what had happened. Lucy felt the same white-hot anger trigger the phase, and in her wolf form she towered over her father, who had taken out a gun. He shot Lucy once in the chest before she beheaded him with her lethal teeth.
Going back to her human form, she hated herself immediately for what she had done. She had killed off the only two people in the world who had cared about her, without a thought. Lucy fled New York, trying to escape what she had done, and what she had become.
For a long time Lucy hated the werewolf side of herself, and blamed it for all of her troubles. She resisted the animal inside of her, and suppressed it brutally. Finally, she realized that she couldn't try to keep the werewolf inside of her dormant, for it was now a vital part of her, and she would just have to accept that. For many years she roamed the Earth on her own, trying to forget the past. She finally received a proper education in many areas, in many different places.
Finally, Lucy worked up the courage to return to America, where she had not been since her parent's deaths. It was then that she discovered Eden Hill, and enrolled there as a junior.
Inside the Character
Personality: Put simply, Lucy is a piece of work. She is a stubborn, willful person who will rarely ever back down from anything. If someone tests her limits or challenges her, whether as in physical dueling or oral debate, she will fight to the death. A very competitive spirit drives her to raise the bar, and always aim high. She is someone who will talk big, but then always live up to it. One of her favorite sayings is, "Talk is cheap."
Also, Lucy finds small talk very irritating. She sees it as pointless and an utter waste of time. Why not just cut right to the chase and say what you need to say? Consequently, she is often intense, and will sometimes unintentionally make people uncomfortable. She is not afraid to say what's on her mind, and can often border on blunt. Some people are turned off by her fearlessness when it comes to speaking, but Lucy doesn't care how others see her. Like her or not, she is always herself.
Lucy is not one of those girls that are always trying to fit in, worried about what they say and how they look all the time. "I am who I am, your approval isn't needed." Is another one of her favorite quotes. She is just living life day by day as herself and only that. Often times she's the oddball out, but she doesn't mind, as long as she stays true to herself.
Being an ambitious girl, Lucy is always moving, and she loves exercise. This is probably why she stays so slender, because it's certainly not her lack of nutrition. She eats a huge amount of food, but then burns it off between a high metabolism and always being active. Though she loves to play sports, running is by far her favorite.
Stating that Lucy has a temper is an understatement. Though, over the years, she has learned to contain her explosive, fiery anger somewhat, for the incident with her parents still gives her nightmares. She struggles to learn to control when she phases from human to wolf, but she is making progress.
Though, essentially, Lucy is a good person. She cares about those who are close to her, though she often fears she will harm them too, like she did her parents. This makes her a difficult person to get close to sometimes, as she never wants to cause another loved one any more pain. She is often reluctant to phase around other people, for fear of doing something to hurt them.
Goals: Overcome her anger problems and become comfortable with phasing around others.
Bad Habits: Losing control of her werewolf side, being blunt, sometimes getting thingyy.
