Family History:
Kerrilyn was born in Seattle, Washington to Marie and Charles Hart. She originally thought that she lived a perfectly normal life, and everything was just normal to her. When she was younger, it appeared that she lived a picture perfect life. However, when she was nine, she found out that her mother was a witch, which was a total shock to her, since she wasn't even aware that they existed. She wasn't upset about it, because it hadn't affected their relationship that much, and it seemed to be that the rest of her family didn't really care about it, even though her father was a human, and at that point she didn't really have any powers that she could identify.
However, a year later, she found out that she could read minds, and on very limited occasion, control people's thoughts. At first, she thought this was a really interesting power and she was really happy that she could have powers like her mom, but sometimes she found out things that she didn't want to about other people. However, a lot of the time, she chose to not know what everyone else was thinking, because she didn't want it to be known to the whole world that she had any sort of abilities. Also, she knew that she could occasionally control thoughts, but she didn't want to use that, because of the fact that to her, that would be abusing her abilities, and she didn't want to do that.
When she was eleven, Kerrilyn's parents decided to get divorced, which to her didn't come as much of a surprise. It was difficult dealing with the fact that her mother was a witch, and her father had no powers. It got to the point that her dad couldn't deal with the fact that both she and her mother had abilities. Eventually, she moved in with her mom, and they lived a decent life in Seattle. It was nice to be able to have a life where she didn't have to worry about hiding who she really was.
As she got older and started high school, her mother decided to move to Eden Hill, since she would be able to be around people that were like her, even though everyone had their differences. However, it was difficult to make friends and be around a lot of people. She was glad that she wasn't the only one with powers, and that she didn't have to be the only one like her. But it was still hard for her to deal with the fact that there were other species other than human, even though she had no problem with it, she just had a hard time adjusting.
Inside the Character
Personality:
Kerrilyn is typically a nice and fairly approachable person, even though she tends to be a bit on the shy side. She doesn't really like to talk to that many people, except if they come up to her first. She isn't really the typical bubbly blonde, and she doesn't like it when people stereotype her like that even if they don't even know her at all. While she likes to be social, she has never really been the typical social butterfly type, and she really doesn't have a problem with that.
Also, Kerrilyn is very outspoken and opinionated. She knows that there may be people that don't like her, but she doesn't really care about that at all. She is willing to stick up for whatever she believes in, and it doesn't really matter to her what that may be. A lot of the time, people don't think that she really can be as out there as she is.
Another thing that makes her stand out is that Kerrilyn is very boyish and she tends to hang out with more guys than girls. She doesn't like being a girly girl, and likes being comfortable, and not the typical girl. She likes sports and it's hard for her to talk to girls, since she doesn't identify with them nearly as much, even though it sometimes makes having friends a little bit more difficult.

rp sample:Ugh, as usual, it was another boring day for Mackenzie. There really seemed to be nothing to do, and she hated that. Realizing this, she figured that the best way to get over her rut of boredom would be to drink, and enjoy life uninhibited. She realized that maybe just a little vodka would make her feel better, but just in case, she grabbed a fifth from her stash under her bed. She was dressed in a t-shirt, and a pair of jeans, with a sketch pad in one hand, and a bottle of booze in the other. She realized that it was a little bit lame to drink by herself, but she wasn't feeling the best, and she felt that her creative side would be more easily expressed with the assistance of alocohol. This was not typical Mackenzie behavior, but she really wasn't feeling good, and while she would have rather had somebody to drink with her, this would have to do in the meantime. After all, many visionaries did their work wasted off their ass, so why would she be any different? Though she may not have had the troubled past of many of these people, it was still what she felt would make her feel better, since for some reason she was in an emotional wreck. She had no idea why, but sometimes things just happened that she couldn't control, or want to, for that matter.
She continued walking around the grounds of Hogwarts, taking swigs of alcohol as she went. It was getting dark, but she didn't really know, or care what time it was, and she just needed somewhere to sit, and be alone for a little bit. It was probably too late for her to be an artistic visionary, but she didn't care. It wasn't like she could really draw in the first place, so it didn't seem to make much of a difference. Mackenzie stumbled around for a bit, trying to catch her balance, before she fell over, in front of the Forbidden Forest. While she was quite intoxicated, she was able to get herself up, and in what would most likely prove to be a bad idea, she chose to go in to the forest. There really wasn't much that she could do, and she wasn't usually one for looking for trouble, so hopefully it wouldn't find her. And she was still smart enough to realize that it would be a bad idea to go far in to the forest. She was aware that there were teachers, and animals that could find her. And besides, she was typically not pegged as the risk taking type, and this would be something that she didn't typically do. Slowly walking, and trying not to trip over the roots, she sat down at the base of a tree, resting her back on the trunk, as to keep herself standing up. She lay back and sighed, trying to figure out what had gotten her there.
Yeah, it was probably the liquor that had made her end up here, but then again, she felt like total crap beforehand, and would have most likely just ended up walking around doing absolutely nothing. Though without inhibitions, everything felt so much better. She didn't have to worry about anything, or anyone. She didn't care about life, and all she really was paying attention to was that everything was spinning around her, both literally and figuratively, or so it seemed. Sitting at the base of the tree trunk, she began to just ponder about her life, and why exactly she was sitting in a forest with a sketch pad and a bottle of booze. Mackenzie was not a typical troubled teenager, in fact, she didn't really feel troubled at all, just a little bit off, and not having a good day. She looked around, realizing that she could no longer see anything, as it had gotten dark. She had probably been drinking and thinking for about an hour, or so it felt, but it could have been any amount of time, for all she knew. She started to doze off, then jerked herself awake, and took another sip of her vodka. She looked at the bottle and realized that it was almost all gone, and that she was much more drunk than she originally thought. She propped herself up on the tree trunk, and tried to figure out what to do at that point, since it felt to her, that there wasn't really anywhere that she could go.
