Logan opened the bathroom door with a creak. The lights were off inside which gave it an eerie presence. Logan stepped inside keeping the lights off. His adjusted pretty quickly to the darkness, and he found himself stood in front of a cracked mirror. Logan was in a dull mood. He hadn't slept at all the night before, and he had a terrible cold. Logan turned the rusty tap on and filled his hands with ice cold water. He put his face over the sink and rinsed his face. Logan left his face wet and pulled a comb out of his jeans pocket. He put some water on it, and began to comb through his hair. He had only just got out of bed and hadn't bothered sorting his hair out. Or bothered to put any of his smarter clothes on.
Logan was dressed in some ripped baggy jeans and a tight navy shirt. With a grey scarf wrapped round his neck and dangling over his shoulder. Plus as usual, a cap perched on top of his head. Logan had combed most of his hair, although half of it was still sticking up wildly. Logan put his comb on the bench in front of him and stared blankly into the mirror. He couldn't see his reflexion properly but it was probably for the best. Colds always made Logan look like some tramp dragged off the street. Logan took a deep breathe through his mouth, for his nose was blocked up, and flexed his shoulders as far back as they could go. Before releasing them and breathing back out.

alex sighed as he walked down one of eden hill academy's many many corridors. all of them seemed like they went on and on forever, and that they never reached their end. he stuffed his hands in his pockets as he walked. he received nods, greetigs and pats on the back from his fellow vampires as he passed. alex passed out his fair share of dirty looks to the werewolves, and polite greetings to the wizards as he went, heading for the bathroom.
after finally turning off out of what seemed to be the longest corridor in the academy, alex opened the door to the boy's bathroom. it moaned and groaned in protest, but it opened, and alex sealed his mouth to keep the particles of dust out of his system. so, the bathrooms weren't in the best of conditions, but they sure as hell weren't the worst either. the toilets were pretty old and rusty, but as long as they still flushed, they weren't about to be replaced.
he noticed someone looking into the mirror. alex felt like he recognized his from somewhere. then it came to him. "hey, you're griffin's brother, right? i'm alex." he smiled, and stuck his right hand forward, looking for a handshake.

Normally Logan would have jumped, but he was in no mod to move quickly. Logan turned his head round and nodded dismally. "How did you guess?" Logan smiled and took a tissue out of his pocket to dry his face. Then placing it neatly in his pocket. Logan dropped four small mints into his mouth before pointing the packet toward Alex. Logan reached with his free hand and shook Alex's awaiting hand. "If you get ill, you know who its from." Logan smiled before glancing back in the mirror to check that he was reasonable to be talking to someone. "I'm Logan by the way. Logan yawned and hitched his trousers up, he had lost quite a bit of weight over the last few days and had dropped a few jeans sizes. Logan had swallowed his mints and felt less self conscious that his breathe didn't smell as bad.

"How did you guess?"
alex stuck his tongue out. he could definitely see the family resemblance between logan and griffin. the two looked incredibly like each other, and they were both vampires as well. logan looked older though, so alex guessed he was a senior. he wondered which one of them had been a vampire longer. of course, it didn't really matter, seeing as they were both vampires now. but that was just alex's way of getting by - worrying about the little things that wouldn't bother a normal person.
he smiled as logan offered him a mint, and took one from the top of the packet. "If you get ill, you know who its from." he laughed, and popped the mint into his mouth. they were rather strong, but it didn't bother alex. the fact that vampires didn't even have to eat made the thing easier to get down. so, this mint in alex's mouth was quite simply to improve his breath.
"I'm Logan by the way"
alex smiled. "alex. " it was pretty much all he had to say to introduce himself. alex was sure that griffin had spoken of him to logan. he wasn't being cocky or anything, he just thought that she would have. "any lessons today?" he asked. a general, vague question, yes, but a pretty good one for two people who had just met. alex leaned against one of the sink units, hoping that it wouldn't rot away and break on him, as he waited.

Logan put the mints into his pocket and smiled at Alex introducing himself. Logan was sure he had heard the name before, whether it matched the person or not. Logan didn't know whether he had any lessons, he hoped he did though. Ever since he was young Logan had loved learning. Logan searched his memory and remembered three lessons. "Just Maths, Chemistry and Art. You?" Logan loved the subjects were you had to think hard and work out calculations. He had took all of the Sciences but Chemistry was his favorite lesson of all. Logan had noticed a few people running, and thought that he recognized Alex. "Do you run at all?" Logan felt nosy for asking a load of questions but it distracted him from the foul smell of the toilets.
Logan made his way over to the sinks and sat down on the bench. He was quite tall for his age and he didn't have to jump on. Smiling at Alex, Logan pulled some tissues out of his pocket and dabbed the tip of his nose. He always found it embarrassing to blow his nose in company of another so this would do until he was alone again.

"Just Maths, Chemistry and Art. You?"
three of alex's least favorite subjects, they were. sure, he was pretty good when it came to all threee of them, he just did not enjoy them one bit. mostly because his classes were full of werewolves, with only a few of his fellow vampires. he hated that. if he had to pick, maths would be his favorite out of the three. "me? no, i'm done for today." alex said with a grin. no more lessons. his school day had ended with english, something that he had been most pleased about. english was his favorite - he had always topped his classes.
"Do you run at all?"
alex smiled. did he run? the correct question to ask would be when didn't he run? he was pretty obsessed when it came to sport, and his fitness, even though he was a vampire. vampires were already the strongest and fastest out of all the races, but he still obsessed with sport, running in particular. long distance of course. alex loved the fact that he could go for miles, and hours on end without stopping once. he loved it, it gave him a chance to clear his mind, and focus on that one particular goal.
"yeah, i run. probably too much, to be honest." he laughed. it was true. exercise took up far too much of alex's time. but he hadn't seen any of his friends in so long, which was weird seeing as they all came here. so, his exercise was pretty much all he had. the only people alex had seen recently were griffin, and now logan. it scared him to think about all of his "missing" friends. where the hell were they all?
